Love in the time of Corona

Has Covid-19 forced you to postpone your wedding?

During this time, Cloud Creative has. worked hard with all our couples whose weddings were supposed to take place in April or early May of 2020 and getting them rescheduled in a timely, efficient manner so we can work just as hard to execute their events to perfection. As an added precaution in this unprecedented time, for the foreseeable future we have moved all meetings to video meetings from our homes. You may hear a dog bark in the background, but we’ll continue on!

Here are a few tips to make postponing (because the last thing you should do is cancel!) a little easier.

  1. Start with your venue. Get a list of dates that your venue has open where you can easily switch over. Remember that a lot of couples are in this same situation - so be open to options. Friday and Sunday weddings are just as great as Saturdays!

  2. Once you’ve picked a few dates from your venue, be sure to email those dates to ALL vendors to get their availability. This will be the easiest and most efficient way to make sure you have a date that works for everyone. To make things easier on you - I don’t recommend switching any vendors if at all possible.

  3. If you think you may have to switch vendors, talk to the vendor you already booked and see if there are any options. For instance, many of the Photographers and Videographers I work with have associates that can shoot for them, with your original photographer still doing the editing.

  4. In the unfortunate case that switching vendors is necessary, be aware that you will probably lose any monies paid to the original vendor.

  5. Ask about Date Change fees - many vendors that I have been working with have waived any date change fees for dates affected by Covid-19, but I can’t guarantee every vendor will do the same.

  6. Trust your vendors! Know that with a stellar vendor team, we will work tirelessly to make sure that your wedding goes off exactly as planned - even on a new date!

  7. Stay positive and gracious. Remember, this is new territory for everyone, even seasoned professionals. We are all working as hard as we can to find the best solution for you and your wedding.
