Neesha and Gauge Modern Florals At Brik Venue

Neesha and Gauge grew up in the same city in Louisiana and even attended the same high school, but they didn’t meet until they both attended Louisiana Tech. They dated, and even did the long distance thing between Shreveport and Fort Worth after graduation. That time for them in Texas was special, as it’s where Neesha could take a break from medical school, and also where they adopted their first pet. It became a second home for them and they knew they had to get married in the city that hosted so many of their milestones. The couple fell in love with Brik venue for its abundance of natural light, climbing greenery along the exterior, and the view of downtown.

A fusion of cultures and styles, the wedding incorporated plenty of fun too. For one, Neesha’s family is Sri Lankan, and she wanted to ensure that they were able to do a traditional Poruwa ceremony. And while traditional Sri Lankan appetizers were served, the family-style dinner focused on fried chicken from local staple, Babe’s.

The industrial blank canvas of the venue was transformed with colorful roses, orchids, and spray-painted baby’s breath. Neesha’s bouquet combined them all(and popped against her sari-inspired dress by Elizabeth Leese), as did Gauge’s unconventional pocket square, which was made entirely of flowers. The design of the day merged funky with fine art, focusing on texture and color.

Back in her days of studying for medical exams, Neesha and Gauge would let loose at a club, where he would DJ. So that same vibe was brought to their reception, where the groom even took a spin on the turntables to mix a few songs. At the end of the night, guests left with Sri Lankan wedding cake, which isa type of fruit cake with ground spices and nuts and because it lasts a while, they could enjoy it even weeks later and remember the special day
