Jennifer and Austin’s Water Inspired Wedding at the Modern Art Museum

It was a poolside meet-cute for high schoolers Jennifer and Austin. She would go to swim and keep cool, and he was on duty as a lifeguard. Though he immediately piqued her interest, they headed off to college and nothing really came of it. Until Austin moved back to Fort Worth and reached out to Jennifer to see if she wanted to reconnect. The rest is history

While their relationship technically started by the pool, it’s the lakeside they love—with Austin eventually proposing on a dock overlooking their favorite spot.

So when it came time to design their wedding day, the goal was to evoke the feeling of sitting next to water on a warm day, sipping a drink, and kicking back. We referenced water at every turn, from the watercolor invitations (that featured their dog, Stella, on the envelope liner), to the water-filled seating chart,to a reflective blue dance floor. To create even more ambiance,a starry sky was projected on the ceiling over guests, so they could feel as if they were dancing under a summer sky.
